Women aspirants from Turkana county, have been holding a conference for the last two days at st. Teresa centre to lay their political strategies ahead of 2012 general elections. Speaking during the event's final remarks, the chairlady Turkana women advocacy development organization (TWADO) Mrs. Ruth Akoru said that they want to use the constitutional provision to change the face of Turkana county. She agreed that women in Turkana county are faced by a lot of challenges. The conference brought together all women aspirants of all positions set by the new constitution and other Turkana women professionals. However the women representative aspirant Mrs. Paulina Lokuruka said that it is her wish to promote education, in order to bring equality amongst all Turkana people.
