Last Sunday
marked the 17th
Sunday on the calender of catholic church and parishioners of St.
Augustine Cathedral church have been told to Pray persistently and
not to be self sufficient. In his Homily Fr. Nakutan told the
Christians that in the reading of today Abraham was between God and
the people of Sodom and Gomora which was a sinful country but
Abraham prayed and through His prayers God did not destroy every
body. Fr. Nakutan called upon Christians to follow the foot steps
of Abraham through praying without giving up. He added that there are
two things that Christians should know and these were the weapons
which Abraham used to face God with, Christians should lean how to
ask for forgiveness and repentance. Fr. Nakutan added that Christians
should not be self sufficient, satisfy and also self righteous, but
they should be social conscious and follow the example of good
Samaritan with their neighbors and take them as one family. He warned
those with little faith to pray persistently in oder to receive his
blessings since God's time and hour is always the best. Fr. Nakutan
thanked our lady's Girls secondary for animating mass and also bid
farewell to The seminarian Imo Bassols who had been assisting in the
parish but now goes back to the seminary. We wish him God's blessings
as he prepares to be the minister of the word of God.
