Salvation Army Lokitaung Secondary school hosted the Young Christian students (Y.C.S) Joint meeting for the year 2011 today. The joint meeting was officially opened by mass which was celebrated by the Diocesan youth chaplain Fr. Simon Mutai. 21 Y.C.S sections from various secondary schools within the entire county participated in the Joint meeting which is organized yearly by the Diocesan youth Empowerment programme with the assistance of their coordinator Mr. Cyril Matekwa and the entire youth team.
The host section received the teams with a lot of joy and the theme of the year was explained and shared by the students with the guidance of the staff from Talbot center. The theme was “Drug Abuse and Alcohol, and change Agency”. The guest speakers from Talbot Centre emphasized on the challenges facing the youth and effects of drug Abuse to the coming generation.
The students were very much open and discussed issues affecting them in schools and outside school. They were urged to Abstain from all forms of abuse for better lives in future.
