Local news - 4. 6.11 - By Mary Tioko - Parents urged to partner for the well being of the child
St. Leo's Boys High school Kakuma yesterday hosted parents in the school compound. The day's theme was Partnership in education for the well being of the child, brought parents from all over the county and all other counties in Kenya. The Principal of the school Mr. Peter Momanyi welcomed the parents and the board of Governors who came to participate in the Parents day function.
Addressing the parents and students the Principal said that the school is now a provincial school and mentioned his strategies of passing exams which includes Early completion of syllabus before 30th June every year, Thorough revision and remedial lessons, speed tests which are the standard set question papers and revision papers, and finally engaging students in group discussions to help boost the performance of weak students.
The deputy Principal Mr. Napo gave the prizes with the help of the guest of honor Mr. Imuton from L.W.F kakuma to students who performed well .Mr. Napoo congratulated the students for the excellent performances and encouraged the rest of the school to perform well in this years exams. He also encouraged the parents to be close to their children and encourage them in their studies.
The parents were encouraged to pay full fees for their students and also encouraged them to participate in the developments of the school. The P.T.A Chairman Mr. John Aule encouraged the parents to take active role in the day to day running of the activities of the school.
