Residents of Kangole and Sasak villages in Loima district have been urged to take care of the sun tracking solar water project, in order to achieve better results on water supply. Speaking today during the project's assessment, the water engineer social worker from Horizont 300 Mr. Bernhard Fischer said that all the piping should be properly monitored so as to ensure equal supply of water to the residents.
He added that there was need to hurry up the sub surface dam at Sasak village for the residents to have clean water for their domestic consumption. However, he was proud to note that more than 5000 people are benefiting from the same project, which is used for irrigation, domestic use and watering the animals.
At the same time the Horizon 3000 program officer Kenya Katharina Fulterer said that the project is one of pilot that her organization is working on in the east African countries. She added that the apart from water projects, they are also involved agricultural projects and human rights.
The project assessment team will be moving to Turkana south tomorrow, where it is supposed to visit Katilu and its environ.
