One person was killed at Turkwel KenGen camp in Turkana South when
pokot bandits attacked and shot him as he was shopping.
According to Turkana South District Commissioner Mr. Joseph Kanyiri,
the 24 year old Ambrose Lokara was shot dead at around 9 pm when the
bandits attacked the area. DC added that the women who were serving the Lokara were also injured during the incident and were admitted at Kapenguria District hospital.The security forces are pursuing the bandits and no arrest has so far been made.The head of district security committee said he has deployed enough
security personnel to patrol the area and ensure that there is law and
order.In another incident two children and one woman are fighting for their
lives after they were attacked at their Kraals by armed cattle rustlers at Katilu village. The three were transferred to Lodwar district hospital after medical staff at Katilu dispensary had no capacity to handle patients with such injuries.
