The faithfuls of St. Augustine's Cathedral Parish have been urged to be people of Light. The assistant priest of St. Augustine's Cathedral Fr. Geoffrey Nakutan said this during mass today. He said that during the sacrament of Baptism those baptized receive the light that guides them as they do their day to day activities. He warned that each person will be judged by how he or she has used the gifts given to him or her by God on the last day.
Fr. Nakutan advised the faithfuls to use their talents for the glory of God and neighbors. Fr. Nakutan urged the Christians to exercise their God given talent in whatever field God has given them to do it for the benefit of all in the community. He also said that kindness is a virtue that every noble woman should have in order to maintain her family and bring harmony to the whole society. He said that a woman who is not kind brings disaster to the whole community. The priest made reference to the olden days when people did everything communally challenging the modern technology where people have learned to be selfish and inconsiderate of others welfare.
Fr. Nakutan also challenged the faithfuls to look for focused leaders who are ready to bring new ideas in the county. He said that leaders have to expect resistance from the new generation that has known their rights as compared to the later that they used toss up and down during their campaigns. He urged all to be happy with what they have and look for healthy competition that aspires to explore their God given Talents
