Local news – 29.8.11 - By Mary Tioko - Listen to your own conscious: Says Bishop.

The secretariat of the Diocese of Lodwar have been urged to listen to their conscious in order to experience God's Peace. His lordship Bishop Dominic Kimengich said this when celebrating Monday staff Mass held at St. Thomas Chapel today. He said that the furiousness in ones life makes him/her not to tell out his/her own world which the Bishop added that it is important to be told to others so as to make a difference in ones life.
His Lordship said that people sometimes don't want anyone to interfere with their affairs which when one shares and truth said saves the world. He also added that when people are not courageous enough to correct things that are not good, he said that one destroys the world by keeping quiet and urged the staff to be courageous and speak out the truth just like John the baptist and never fear the consequences.
His lordship also added that People who speak out of love, Love the place and will not want it to be destroyed by lies and bad deeds. He also said that if one does not correct evil ,then the punishment will fall on him/her because they kept quiet. He said that there is the voice of God in them that speaks thats to them if they pay attention to their conscious.
Bishop Dominic also gave example of herodeous who knew that his life was in a mess, and went ahead kill John the baptist under request of a evil mother. He noted that, that happens to them if they don't examine their conscious, since this leads to sin and eventual death. His lordship called upon the staff to listen to one another's conscious. He said that Most people don't have peace because they don't go for confession. He thus said that When they acknowledge their sins and ask God for forgiveness, they will have peace. He asked them to be contented with the little they have and be a happy people always.
