THE PARTING SHOT – 28.04.2010 - THE HIDDEN STRENGTH IN UNITY.

Have you ever been weighed down by problems? Yes personal problems that made you wish you had someone with which to share? Have you ever sat alone pondering why the world has been cruel on you while others find life something to celebrate about? Well you are not alone our dear listener. This world is full of problems, some of which are painful. Some people have even ended their lives as a result of what they called endless chain of problems. The other day we witnessed a couple of people celebrating the birth of child whereupon one of them raised the baby high crying out in joy,' WELCOME TO OUR WORLD'. What this person forgot to say was...'WORLD OF PROBLEMS'

Indeed problems are part of our lives and perhaps learning to live with them is our only challenge. Yes let us learn to live positively with our problems. One of them is to learn to share with them with others! Yes, there are so many people out there who would like to share with us our problems and theirs too, and in the process make our load lighter. And when things become hard, let us call upon the Lord to make our load even lighter! Remember, he is always there for us and willing to listen to us. Spare time and speak to him privately and in silence and you will be glad you did.

PARTING SHOT – 21.04.2010 - HOW MUCH DO WE CARE ABOUT OTHERS?

Most of the time we are faced with a situation that appear unfavourable to us and this turns things upside down, making our efforts to realize our dreams a bit difficult. This is the moment we feel like the world is turning around us and things do not seem to work to our advantage. This is the very moment we start wishing that it were not happening to us but to someone else! In our bitterness and anger we at times set out to hate those who may not have had a hand in our tribulations. It could be the loss of a job, of our loved one, a strained relationship or any other thing, or even a letter of regret from a potential employer.

Indeed, every time we get into trouble, no matter what kind, we start pointing an accusing finger at our assumed enemies. All the time we convince ourselves that someone else with malicious intention is out to make us suffer. This particular belief makes us suspect those around us, more so friends, neighbours and even workmates. Is this fair in the eyes of God who created us in his own image? Is it fair to always shift the blame to other people whenever things do not seem going the right for us? And why do we always think that we are always right in what we believe in even if it embarrassingly wrong? Be serious and think, reason and act positively! Care about others by stop blaming others for everything that does not seem to work out to your liking!

PARTING SHOT – 18.04.2010 – FRIENDSHIP.

Friendship is one of the greatest gifts God has given to mankind. It something we yearn for and cherish. Yes having a true friend is a precious gift from the one who created us. But just stop for a moment and think seriously; just how true are those we call friends? How can we tell a true friend from those who pretend to be our friends for the simple reason that they want something from us? Indeed who is a true friend? Who is our foe? Unfortunately many are a time we cannot tell the difference between the two. This is the time when those we thought to be our friends turn their back on us when we need them most. The time those we used to cherish decide to disappear without even saying goodbye. Those who pretend to be our friends will silently celebrate the very moment they learn that we are experiencing hard times in life. They do not want to hear anything good has happened to us. The very realization that we are pushing on and nearing our sweet dreams make them feel uneasy and even drive them to seek the helpof witchdoctors in their efforts to block our progress. On the contrary, a true friend, yes an EVERGREEN FRIEND will always be there for us and provide a guiding hand or a shoulder to lean on when things pull us down. A true friend suffers when we suffer and rejoices when we rejoice.
