Ash Wednesday has been described as time reflect ourselves as human beings of our actions.
Animating a mass today at st. Augustine's cathedral, his lordship Dominic Kimengich noted that this is a sign to the human that in the presence of God we are all dust. He said that it is time for God's manifestation to reflected in all human beings through prayer and fasting.
The bishop stressed that fasting is not only avoiding to eat but to change from our previous characters.
He insisted that Christians should intensify their prayer time and fast to overcome their own weaknesses, which is addiction not only to food, but from our sins. He called for Christian to take their faith seriously and move closer to God.
Bishop Kimengich was speaking to Christians today at st. Augustine's parish during the launch of the Lenten campaign, which is set to run for the next 5 weeks.
