Scouts in turkana county began their community service in Napetet village today by renovating Regina Lokure's house a blind woman in mission B. According to scouts area commissioner Mr. Davidddd Etyang 4 schools were invited for the service, Kawalase primary school, Lodwar mixed,Lodwar girls and Kanamkemer primary school. The Area Commissioner added that they were doing community service which is voluntary in preparation for the scouts founders day which is usually celebrated on 22nd Feb every year. He promised that the house renovation will take 2 days which will end tomorrow. Mr. Etyang stressed on the founders day which he said will be celebrated on Sunday instead of Monday to allow pupils and students to continue with their studies as usual.
The area commissioner mentioned a few challenges facing the scout movement which finance was the first priority. Onn finance he mentioned of a trip to Nyeri to celebrate the founders day which is impossible due to lack of finance and support Head teachers also seem in co-operative to the scout duties by not giving scouting enough support in various schools in Turkana county at large.
Alice Moru Lodwar mixed pupil, Rhoda Napas Kawalase pupil and Imelda Kapua Kanamkemer pupil were not behind to show their seriousness in scouting where they said they are fully committed to scout movement and to ensure that surroundings are clean always.
Jared Lorot one of the Napetet residents present in the scene of the service appreciated the work done by the scouts in Turkana county and prayed unto God to give them strength to continue helping the more communities.
