People of Turkana who have been relying on relief food, have missed it for the last two weeks, after the great Turkana transport development association went on strike. Here is good news for the since the GTTDA has called off the strike and promised to role its normal transportation from tomorrow. The GTTDA chair person Mr. Lokai Nyai said that this has come after the organization came into a consensus on the subsidized fee of 8000/=. he said that this an increment of 60%, though his organization wanted 100% increase. However the organization's secretary general Mr. moses Lokopu noted that transportation department is divided into two, the big tracks and the 4 by 4 vehicles. He said that tomorrow they will have only small vehicles while the tracks will wait until further notice on fresh consensus. These leaders made this statement today when they met and up dated the stake holders of the GTTDA at green leaf restaurant here in Lodwar. They promised that the negotiations are still going on between GTTDA and the NGOs and CBOs that are concern.
