The Court Users Committee [CUC] held a meeting at St. Teresa Pastoral Center. The committee which was formed and officially opened in 2008, its aim was to sensitize the brain chain of judiciary which includes the Probation officers, officers in charge of prison OCPD among others.
Their main aim was to collect the views from those who carry day to day activities with the court and hear them to serve the community properly.
Speaking during the meeting, The District Probation Officer Mr. David Ekimat said that the CUC committee has helped them to identify some projects to be implemented such as, building the structures for rescue centers to protect anybody who is manipulated and also to enable the lawyers to interrogate them, and also the women undergo rape and domestic to be protected.
Issues of under age motorist was also discussed,and it was passed that law will be taken to both the employee and the owner of the motorcycle, and also more prosecutors are needed to reduce congestion of cases in the court and also prisons should be expanded.
