Damien will be like the canon Lawyer of the Diocese of Lodwar to help in Canon law. In the days readings his lordship urged the Christians to listen to the word of God and put it into practice. He called upon all to proclaim the word of God without fear when teaching others who do not know about it. He added that in the scriptures people took the sick to Jesus to be healed challenging the faithful present to invite others to the church especially those who have back- slided in the word of God. The Bishop also encouraged the Christians to intervene when things go wrong in the community, mentioning the teachers strike saying that teachers have the right to have a just pay but they also have the obligation and duty to serve the young pupils whom they teach in their various schools. Bishop Dominic challenged the parents to take up their responsibilities especially now that the government and teachers have failed in their negotiations, he asked them their stake in this disagreements. He called upon all to be people of high integrity and serve all without discrimination mentioning on the issues of Lodwar towns road repairs that was done in a discriminatory manner giving example of the road leading to Napetet Village that was left without repair at all. Civil servants on the other hand were also challenged to serve and not make money in their various places of duty, so as to bridge the gap of poverty in Turkana and not widen it more.
