Six students have finally been been selected to join national school from Turkana district county according to the 2010 KCPE results this year.
Speaking to Akicha reporter in his office today, Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO) Mr. Samson Ngarisa said that the 6 students were chosen from public and private schools equally three three from each side. The Lodwar mixed primary which is one of the public schools took three pupils to National school while Kare Academy which is a private school also took three pupils to National schools depending on their schools of preferences.
The provincial selection which is kicking off on Friday in Nakuru is full of determination has most students hope to lie in the provincial level who did not manage to make it in national level.
Mr. Ngarisa further said that a lot of measures has been taken to consideration to enable the 2011 candidates perform well in there forth coming National examinations come the end of the year. He further said that some strategies being put in place including the increase in teachers by the government, frequent inspection in schools and teachers transfers to enable smooth running of schools match their performances.
