The pontifical missionary society co-coordinator in the Diocese of Lodwar who is also co-ordinating the pontifical missionary union Sr. Rose Macharia today organized a day of prayer in preparation of commissioning of Holy family Kanamkemker Parish members.
The retreat which was facilitated by Fr. Geoffreyyy Nakutan brought together 68 members drawn from Holy family Kanamkemer and Nawoitorong outstation, St. Augustine's Cathedral parish' and St. Michael's Napetet members. Giving his input in the reflection Fr. Nakutan encouraged the members of P.M.U to exercise patience in their lives. He also said that a christian is the one who has time for prayer, reflection, visiting others and working hard to provide for oneself. Fr. Nakutan called upon the P.M.U members to have a spirit of solidarity and passion , spirit of service to others , spirit of reaffirming , Mercy and love and above all sharing the little resources as a team.
Fr. Nakutan said that the P.M.U. All Christians are called to make this world a better place to live in by making peace, improving environment and growing spiritually. The chairman of St. Augustine's cathedral P.M.U members Mr. Paul Ngumi explained the meaning of the various colours in the P.M.U Rosary which was prayer during the retreat saying that the green beads represent prayer for Christians in Africa, Red for Americans, White for Europe, Blue beads for Oceanic countries and lastly the Yellow colour for the Asian Christians.
In her concluding remarks Sr. Rose Macharia encouraged the members to use a rosary and prayers as weapons against the evil one. The Catechist of Nawoitorong who is also the member of P.M.U Mr. Benedict Lokwayen urged the members to implement all that they have been shared in the retreat in their day to day lives. He challenged them that their spirit of evangelisation is now renewed and they should go ahead spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. The recollection ended with mass.
