The
Christians of St. Augustine's cathedral parish have been warned that
the race of Christ is not an easy Race. Addressing the faithfuls
today morning during his homily, the vicar general who is also the
parish administrator of St. Augustine's Cathedral Parish Fr. Joseph
Ekalimon informed the Christians to remain focused in their faith and
above all be witnesses of Christ every time of their lives.Fr.
Ekalimon said that Christians need to put God has their reference
point. He emphasized in prayer for one self and praying for others in
the world. Fr. Ekalimon said that God's word is alive and active and
cuts like a double edged sword. He encouraged parents to pass to
their children good Christian values that can be emulated in life
from generation to generation saying that generation come and go but
the word of God lasts.Fr. Ekalimon said that families too have
different way of doing things and encouraged them to be witnesses of
Christ in oder to continue with the word of God and pass it to their
children. He added that parents need to direct their children during
this holiday and encouraged them to take them for tuition to cover
for the lost days during the teachers strike. On the need to acquire
power, the priest said that power makes one destroy the truth and
Christians should not fear to say the truth in-oder to bring change
in the world. He encouraged all to speak the truth and be the voice
of the voiceless terming it as bush fire which they should spread
out.
