worth thousands of shillings was destroyed at erait academy at fire break out
and as a result boys’ dormitory was burnt down.
Confirming the incident OCS Lodwar police
station Patrick Gogo said the incident
occurred at 11.40 am while the officers were on their regular duty of
patrolling in Lodwar town when they were informed and rushed at the scene only
to find fire escalating on one of the dormitories.
The officer
commanding the station said that the cause of the fire was suspected to be on
and off action of electric volts, but contained by a good Samaritan and the
efforts of police officers who were there no causalities reported as the fire
was duly controlled.
The manager
of the school Grace kierie said that the
school remained in a dilemma as parents who came to see their children were
allowed to go home with them
The school
manage however appreciated the effort of communities and well-wishers who
managed to put off the fire. Ocs Patrick Gogo of Lodwar police station said
that the cause of the fire was suspected to be on and off of electricity volts.
Residents
urged the county government to purchase at least one fire extinguisher Vehicle
to help in such calamites if occurs in the county.
