The equity bank Lodwar branch is unveiling the wings to fly 2012 scholarship today at mikeka grounds.The branch manager Mr. Job Nyorsok has revealed that the bank in conjunction with other partners is investing in education not only in Turkana but all over Kenya, where by 2140 pupils of the last year's KCPE have benefited from the programme. He added that the branch is proud that 20 pupils from all over the county have been absorbed in the programme. He said that the programme does not aim in only providing education, but gives other arenas of learning
The 20, will be traveling to Nairobi on Saturday 28th for a three day induction programme before being awarded their full year scholarship. The programme which is run by Equity bank in conjunction with equity group foundation, master card foundation, USAID and UKAID through wings to fly is targeting bright children from poor back grounds. The ceremony was attended by Patricia Ekadeli and Josephine Walela from the DEO's office and KEPSHA Turkana county chairman Mr. Samuel Losuwat. The national launch will take place on 1st February in Nairobi by president Mwai kibaki and will be aired live on National Media for Kenyans to follow the event.
