The Christians have been reminded
today that their vows during baptism shows their commitment to follow Christ in
their day to day's lives. Addressing them during his homily at St. Augustine's
cathedral parish, Fr. Geofrey Nakutan said that those baptized commit
themselves to two things in life- Following Christ and shunning from evil.Fr. Nakutan encouraged all to be
laborers in the vineyard of the lord that has a lot of work and requires all of
them to take responsibilities by doing the right things. He also affirmed that
human being are prone to temptations but need to seek for his guidance and
protection. Fr. Nakutan said that the sacrament of penance helps them to
re-examine themselves and turn back to God.Fr. Nakutan also said that each and
every person has a responsibility in life. He encouraged them to always seek
for strength from sacraments of the Eucharist
so as to be strong in their faith. He challenged the married couples to
be faithful to each other in their vocation and stick to each other and that
earthly things should not separate them.He also encouraged all to pray for
peace and calm in Syria and our country Kenya that people should live in peace
and harmony. He informed them to act justly and that they should not worry on what people say so long as they do
the right thing for Christ will reward them according to their actions. He said
that Help for the needy and poor is paramount in the call of discipleship.
