SPORTS ROUND UP - 24.8.2013 - BY KEN SIMIYU - Western corridor cross border peace sports Analysis at Sigor in Pokot county.

Inter diocesan cross border peace evangelization Ad hoc committee team on Friday the 24^th August joined the five parishes in western corridor of k and Nakwamoru of Lodwar Diocese Turkana County  and Sigor, Lomut and Sekerr of Kitale diocese of Pokot County in witnessing the youth from the five parishes playing  sports for peace tournament in Sigor parish.The teams which participated were Sekerr, Lomut, Sigor, Kainuk,and Nakwamoru parish and were assisted by Justice and peace Lodwar and kitale officers, Communication officers from the two diocese and parish priests of the said parishes. The games played were football both girls and boys and  Volleyball, the games started at 10.00am.In football girls Kainuk played against Lomut and the result were nil nil, the second game was  between Sekerr Vs Sigor and sigor defeated Sekerr one goal to nil in the semi finals Sigor thrashed Kainuk  one goal to nil and the finals Sigor won the game after they defeated Lomut one goal to zero.In football Boys those who reached the finals were Kainuk vs Sekerr two to one,  in Volleyball boys Nakwamoru three sets Sekerr nil,  then in girls Sigor thrashed Lomut three goals to nil. Peace team was formed comprising five players from each parish and played both teams and won the peace trophy. The games were played on weiwei and Fr. Leo's  playing grounds in Sigor parish. Peace will be playing any of the Lodwar teams very soon in peace evangelization.
