
The peace delegation team from
Southern Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya yesterday held commemoration of
Lokiriama peace accord at Lokiriama in Loima District Turkana County.The event
attracted more than 4000 peace team from different countries and communities.
It was graced by Turkana county governor, Hon. Josephat Nanok accompanied by
Hon. John Munyes senator Turkana county and Mps from Loima, Turkana South and
Turkana Central constituencies and all MCAs.It was also attended by delegation
from Uganda led by Hon. Peter Lokres minister for Lands and delegation from
South Sudan Hon. Patrick Loita minister for livestock and fisheries.Speaking
during the peace meeting, Hon Josephat Nanok emphasized on peaceful
co-existence among the communities forming the Karamoja cluster.
He promised Turkana Community that live at
Lokiriama that they will soon have electricity because all plans are set.The
Turkana county governor also told the minister for lands from Uganda that the
road from Lodwar to Lokiriama should also be planned to start from Moroto and
meet on the Kenya-Uganda border.The meeting ended peacefully and the peace team
proceeded to Uganda to attend another peace team organized by Ugandan peace
team.
