Local news – 31.10.10 - By Daniel Edaan - 251 STUDENTS CONFIRMED IN KAKUMA PARISH

The Auxiliary bishop Dominic kimengich accompanied by the visiting Bishop of bromore diocese Ireland confirmed 251 students today in the morning at Kakuma Parish. The Students that were drawn from different schools around kakuma parish were confirmed in the colourful mass celebrations where the confirmed students were termed as Christians soldiers and role models for the propagations of Christians faith in their schools and in the entire environment .
Auxilary bishop said that the holy spirit is going to strengthen them and lead them towards doing the will of God through the manifestation of the seven gifts in each one of the following students.
Bishop John MC Areavey of the catholic diocese of bromore Ireland thanked bishop kimengich and all the Christians faithful of lodwar diocese for being strong in their faith .
The visiting prelate together with other guests from Ireland expressed their joy and happiness for the vibrant Christian community of kakuma and kalobeyei parish. The visiting team from ireland promised to cooperate with the diocese of Lodwar in development of faith. Later the team visited kakuma refugee camp and St. Leo boys secondary school in Kakuma where they shared with the school administration and students on ways they can partner and support each other to develop the school and other infrustructure.
