Local news – 1.1.11 - By Mary Tioko - 20 infants received in the catholic church in the sacrament of Baptism at St. Joseph Ille today

The infants who were received at Solemnity of Mary mother of God had their mothers prepared for the big event by the catechist for along time to remind them of their responsibilities in bringing up these children according to the Catholic faith.
The colorful celebration which was animated by the St. Augustines Cathedral Administrator Fr. Francis Teo was marred with colorful songs from faithfuls who were really happy for the day. The Christians who were drawn from various outstations of ille, Nasirite, Atalounyen were among the those represented in the witnessing the infants reception.
Speaking during his homily Fr. Teo said that Mary gave birth to the child Jesus the same way like all women. Fr. Teo also said that the hopes of Mary were that the child Jesus grows up healthy, strong and good but incase of Mary things were different.
The priest said that When Mary was told of all the extraordinary events related to the birth of her son, and that he was to be the Saviour of the world, of-course she was abit worried. But Mary trusted in God and kept all those things in her heart and because of that the plan of God could be fulfilled.
Fr. Francis encouraged all the mother to emulate the example of Mary and let the will of God to take control of their lives. He told the mothers to trust in God and all that they ask of him shall be granted especially when they enter the new year of 2011.
