LOCAL NEWS - BY PRAXIDES KHISA - LODWAR TOWN REMAINS CALM DURING FESTIVE SEASON.

The new law on hours of alcohol drinking which was implemented on august 13 2010 has contributed a lot on curbing crime and keeping the town safe and calm.
According to alcoholic drinks control act part 4 2010, it stated that the time for drinking should start at05 pm to 11 pm in the evening while night clubs should be opened at 7 pm up to 3 am.
Speaking to Radio Akicha in his office , the officer commanding police station Mr. Evans Omuga said that , this has reduced the number of crime rate in lodwar town during this season.
The OCS said that they have brought together regular police, administration police and Kenya police reservist as a team where they have been placed in strategic part of the town to cope with the instances of thuggery and ill wills.
He further said that, this will go on until 4th January 2011 to make sure that everybody celebrates the festive season peaceful and without fear.
