Local news – 21.1.11 - By Daniel Edaan - Lake deanary held a high profile meeting for the planning for the year's activity at Kataboi Parish today

Lake deanery has held a high profile meeting at kataboi parish chaired by the Dean Fr. Joseph Ekalimon. The meeting which was attended by the seven parish priests and different religious groups, brothers and sisters congregation resolved to work together to bring about peace and reconciliation and to partner with the government in serving the society.
In the meeting the dean mentioned that the deanery is vast with many insecurity problems citing Todonyang parish, kaikor, lowangarek as the parishes hit most by the ethnic conflicts. The dean however acknowledged the great support from the diocese and government institutions to bring about remarkable changes in the region.
Other clergy priests were, Fr. George from Apostle of Jesus who hosted the meeting Fr. Stephen Ochieng of Missionary Community of St. Paul Apostle (MSCPA), Todonyang Parish priest Fr. Alex Champon, St. James Kaikor Parish, Fr. Ekalimon Joseph Lowarengak Parish, and Fr. Isaiah Ajiri of St. Mary's kalokol Parish.
Fr. Stephen Ochieng has cited fair sharing of the resources available in Todonyang by having regular meetings with the elders and key people of the two conflicting communities, Merile and Turkana.
He has mentioned unity and love of each other as the leeway to end conflict between the communities and also the support from the Ethiopian Government and the Kenyan Government.
