LOCAL NEWS – 13.02.11 - By Zacheaus Otaba - Let us be development conscious director of Geothermal station in Nakuru tells turkana leaders

The leaders of Turkana have been urged to take the life of the people as a very important aspect in whatever they do. Speaking St. Michael's Napetet in Kawalase, the director Nakuru geothermal Mrs. Rhoda Loyor, said that as a leader one should take himself or herself equal to anybody in the community.
However, the director called for the Turkana people to learn to appreciate the services that are offered to them by their leaders. She insisted that the turkana should remain united and have one voice when it comes to decision making, especially on issues that affect the development of the region.
At the same time the member of parliament for Turkana central Hon. Ekwe Ethuro insisted that leaders should sacrifice most of their time to serve the people under them.
During the harambee a total of 349,000 shillings was raised with the area MP donating 50,000 shillings while Mrs. Loyor contributed 40,000 shillings in aid of expansion of St Michael catholic church Napetet.
