LOCAL NEWS – 16.02.11 - By Zatocheaus Otaba -Youths with waiting cards to make follow ups


Youths of Turkana Central and Loima districts have been urged to make follow up of their identity cards in the district registration of persons' office.
The district registration of persons offier, for Turkana Central who is also in charge of Loima district Mr. Tom Mbotela, today has distant his office with the allegations of reluctance that were made by members of the public, during the visit of the deputy prime minister Hon Musalia Mudavadi.
Mr. Mbotela said that since October 2009 up to date, more than 200 identity cards are still lying in his office, awaiting collection by the owners. He added that for the whole month of January, only 101 identity cards have been collected, according to his records. The officer highlighted that during the month of January, 188 youths were veted while more than 30 others were replacements and change of particulars. He was pleased to note that, high numbers of youths is expected tomorrow when they will be carrying veting.
However he said that the changes that were made by the head office are now implemented.
He called upon those who wish to replace their identity cards to visit the office from Monday to Friday for assistance.
Mbotela asked all those who have any doubt with his office to visit it in person so that to get clear information. This month's vetting will carried tomorrow the 17th of February at the district commissioner's office as from 8.00am.
