Local news - by Ken Simiyu - 14.12.2013 – LOWASCO CONSTRUCTS MORE WATER KIOSKS IN THE VILLAGES.



The Turkana community has been facing water challenges for the past years where many people used the river water for drinking. Today LOWASCO opened water kiosk at Lokipetot village in Nakwamekwi location the water kiosk will serve the residents of Red burner A and Lokipetot. Speaking during the function Managing Director of LOWASCO Mr. John Esekon said that the water kiosk will improve the lives of the community as well as reducing water borne diseases that has been posing danger to the community. Mr. Esekon appreciated those water users who pay 200 and above for being cooperative of paying their bills in time. On the other hand Mr. Esekon also commented on those who pay more than 2000 shillings that they delay the process of LOWASCO when they fail to pay the bills on time. The director added that there is some department in the National Government and also County government that has a debt of more than 7 million shillings and have not paid up to now, such delay they will no development in the county in-seated want to drag the company down. Lowasco was ranked number 26 in the country number 4 in rift valley and number 1in the whole of North rift, he urged the county government to support them and also stake holders so as to improve the work of supplying water in the community.
