The colorful wedding celebration of Koki Gilberto Epuu (Kenyan) and Ann Stefanie Coolen (Dutch), as they match towards the alter to receive the sacrament of Matrimony took place at St. John's Catholic church Nachukui which is an outstation of Nariokotome Parish along the lake zone of the Diocese of Lodwar, brought together different tribes , races and personalities in this big event.
Uniting the two couples in this sacrament Fr. Fernado Aquire welcomed the christian community of Nachukui to witness an unique event that was bounded in love. Fr. Fernado said that the faithfuls were witnessing the promise that Anne and Koki, will make publicly to each other. He said that they declared a mutual love and they promised to trust each other in life long.
The priest also said that, that event was unique in that place and so special because it presents a deeper secret. He went ahead saying that, that did not just unite the two couples but the two families from two countries and cultures, He said that when two paths of people cross, when two rivers unite, then there lies a deeper secret. There is an invisible hand of the father that shows us the way. The faith of koki and Ann makes them trust that what God has started in them, He will complete.
Fr. Fernado emphasized on the power of love saying that it overcomes all boundaries. He encouraged the two families and the entire community of Nachukui to support the young couple in their matrimony life. He also challenged the community to break the chains of tribalism, hate, status and unite in Love of Christ and reminded them to pray always so as to overcome the temptations of the evil one.
