It is exactly one month since the constructor of the Kawalase bridge promised that it was to be completed in a week's time, which was supposed to be on 25th of Feb. this year. Up to today travelers and business men to and from Kakuma are not reaching their destinations due to the over flooding of Kawalase lagha.
Majority of business men especially fish traders have been forced to use extra money in transportation of their products form a cross the river to town. However people who have urgency in traveling, are forced to cross via water with their luggages since there is a cue of vehicles on both side of the bridge, which might be forced to turn back in case the situation persists.
When it was announced that, the Kawalase bridge is being repaired many people started to rejoice that it had dawned as far as transportation is concern. All in all the dream of most people in the Turkana county is completely buried after what they expected to have been forgotten is still prevailing. The question that all have to answer is for how long shall the passengers continue to suffer? May those concerned do something about the bridge as soon as possible.
