The County Government
through the Ministry of Health has a plan of constructing a modern dispensary
in every ward in Turkana County. Apart from the ongoing construction of
dispensaries they are also supplying medicine to both Government and Missionary
facilities and as it plans to post more doctors, nurses and clinical officers
to the wards. Over the past years, the Turkana community has been
going through tough times in getting health care services but since the
introduction of county government, the community has to suffer no more in
receiving those services. Speaking during a visit to Kalokol and Long’ech
wards, County Minister for Health, Mrs. Jane Ajele, visited the areas to monitor
the construction said that the project in many wards is now at the final stages.
