of France to Kenya Mr. Remi Marechaux officially handed over 1.72
million shillings facility to eager users at Kakuma Camp pointing out that it will
enhance Integration and Cohesion among tribes, communities and over 10
nationalities. A first ever community library in Turkana County that will ease
access to English and French learning and revision materials for refugees and
Turkana residents has been established at Kakuma refugee camp. Mr. Marechaux
said that the ambitious project had been requested by francophone refugee
community led by Burundi and Congo. He however challenged the host community
and all workers at the camp to learn French to make them more marketable in the
hunt for better jobs. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee Senior
Operations Manager Valentine Ndimbala said books were among the resources
overstretched at the camp welcoming more support from partners across the Globe.
