LOCAL NEWS-25.12.2010-BY SOFARI WYCLIFFE. DIOCESE SOCIAL MINISTRY DISTRIBUES FOOD TO THE NEEDY.
Diocesan Social Ministry today distributed food to the less fortunate in the society and the sick .
They were supplied with food stuffs; Maize, Beans, Milk, Fruits, Clothes and Cash. Social Ministry deputy coordinator Mark Nakain said, the clothes was a donation from the Auxiliary Bishop Dominic Kimeng'ich and the money was to help them buy cooking Oil and Salt.
The ministry which was formed in the year 2000 by Bishop Patrick Harrington was first opened to cater for the poor people in the community, those who could not get basic items to sustain them in their daily life. It later extended its service to those taking medicine while at home and could not also access food.
Most of them were pleased with the programme and thanked bishop Patrick Harrington for the programme.
