The choir from St. Joseph's ille which is an outstation of St. Augustine's Cathedral parish visited Radio Akicha today purposely to record Turkana liturgical songs. The visit was organised by Radio Akicha and was coordinated by Mr. Benedicto Raiti, who is the Catholic Church Assistant of Ille outstation, and the composer of the songs. The choir arrived at the station early in the morning and immediately kicked off with the recording in the production studio with Akicha staff.
Expressing their joy during the recording, the choir trainer, Mr. Benedicto Raiti, thanked Radio Akicha for facilitating the process of recording, which is in line with it's mission of promoting the local musicians and nurturing local talents. The choir members expressed their gratitude to Radio Akicha for giving them a chance to evangelise through songs that are purely drawn from the Bible teachings and composed in the local language so that christians understand it better.
The choir through one of their members appealed to the diocese to extend Radio Akicha's coverage to reach all the parishes so that many more people can be following radio programmes and also to contribute with ideas and also spiritual messages to their Catholic faithful.
