Today Radio Akicha distributed 35 solar radios at Nakwamekwi parish, as part of the new “Akicha Sura Mpya” expansion project. The Akicha team was answering a call by the nomadic listeners, for need of providing solar radios to the remote communities, as an important tool of evangelization which is also Radio Akicha mission.
Fr. Rafael thanked Radio Akicha staff for training the catechists and small Christian community leaders on the use of radios.
The priest said that the radios will enable them to be following both religious and informative programmes.
He added that, Risen Christ Parish Christians especially from the 18 outstations within the parish and its environs will benefit from the solar radios.
John Chegem the head catechist also expressed his joy and happiness saying that the radio will help a great deal in informing, educating, entertaining and evangelizing both the Christians and non Christians.
He encouraged all Christians to listen to Radio Akicha especially the faith nurturing pro grammes.
The same message was mentioned by the Esther Arukudi who said that the radio will enhance their faith. This solar radio pro-gramme has been possible through the help of the late Esther Buendia and Amics of Radio Akicha in Spain who are a support group that has been supporting this solar radio project until today. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
