The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga has said that the government will stand by the Turkana community during these hard times of drought and hunger that has hit most parts of the country.
The PM who visited many parts of the county to asses the situation further said that water projects to boost food production in the region will be put up in various parts to help curb the perennial problem.
He was accompanied by Turkana Central MP Hon. Ekwe Ethuro, Turkana South MP Hon.Josephat Nanok, the Agriculture Minister Dr. Sally Kosgei among others . The tour which started in Todenyang in Turkana north took the PM and his team to various parts of the county which included Turkana Central.
Addressing the people in Lodwar ,Turkana south MP Hon. Nanok asked the government to the issue insecurity in the region saying that there was need to deploy more security officers to the main border .
