The resent statistics carried by world vision, have shown that Turkana North district is leading in malnutrition cases. Giving the report today to the partners, the national nutrition officer world vision Kenya Mr. Daniel Muhinja said that this is caused by poor dieting.
Launching the training of the officers that will initiate a pro gramme called blanket supplementary pro-gramme, which is scheduled to take place between August and December, he said that other districts as well are affected. Mr. Muhinja said they are targeting pregnant women, children aged between 0-3yrs and lactating mothers all over the county. He said that the project has an aim of reducing the cases of infection related to malnutrition in the region. Other districts affected include Turkana central and Loima districts which have 24.4%, Turkana south has 33.7%. The training which held today at st. Augustine's cathedral hall brings together partners from merlin, IRC, world vision and the diocese of lodwar.
