Local news – 09.08.2011 - by zacheaus otaba - Let us define ourselves as Christians, bishop urges
Christians have been urged to define themselves when delivering their day to day services. Speaking today when opening st. Dominic parish priests house, in Kerio, the bishop for Lodwar diocese, his lord ship Dominic Kimengich, said that Christians should not go back to where they were before they knew Jesus. He noted that today being st. Dominic's day, Christians should imitate his action, since he was prayerful and won many people to god.
The bishop said that Jesus told his disciple to receive the holy spirit that will encourage them to fight against life challenges. He added that there is need for people to stick to their promise of obedience, not only while in trouble.
However he congratulated the efforts of the people of Kerio parish by ensuring that, the priest's residential house is complete. At the same time the bishop confirmed more than 200 Christians who are receiving the holly Eucharist.
The celebrations were attended by more than 9 priests all over the diocese, including vicar general father Joseph Ekalimon.
