Nadirkonyen Children's Catholic Centre celebrated its 20 years of existence today at the Centres compound. Joining the celebrations the bishop for the diocese of Lodwar his lordship Dominic Kimengich called for more well wisher to step in to help in the donation towards the working of the Centre.
Giving the sermon of the day, his lordship said that God loves those people who are brought in a poor life. He urged the community to join hands and give give generously to facilitate the running of the institution, since God loves all those who give generously. The bishop challenged the celebrants that non of those children was willing to be found in that Centre.
At the same time, the coordinator of the Centre brother Hans Wennekess said that the Centre is faced by many challenges, including increase in the number of enrollment and increase in food prices. He noted that the Centre has nurtured more than 12,200 children since its establishment in 1991 and the current enrollment is 351 both from non school going up to the university.
However he thanked Terre Des homes Netherlands for the continued support it is offering to the Centre. The brother called for the government to step in and give support to care for the increasing number.
