Local news – 31.7.11 - By Mary Tioko - When little is enough and much is not enough: Say Priest today

The faithfuls of St. Augustine's Cathedral parish were urged today during mass to be satisfied with the little they have since the much they might have might not be enough. Fr. John Kizito Manzi accompanied by the Vicar general Fr. Joseph Ekalimon and Fr. Edward said that the little that Jesus was given during the miracle of two fish and five Loaves was enough to the people and even some food remained. The priest said that, that miracle was possible because Jesus was ready since he had just prayed to his father in Heaven for the strength and power to perform miracles.
Fr. Manzi said that the faithfuls can also avail themselves to God the almighty in prayer and in commitment and God will enable them perform Miracles and make the little become enough in their lives. He added that Jesus wanted to be alone but people followed him because they knew he will feed them. He challenged the Christians to be ready to help and feed others who are in need if they want to follow the example of Jesus Christ and also in doing this they will be able to perform miracles of magnifying the little they have to be enough.
Fr. Manzi stressed on the need of having time with God and giving him room to fill the spaces in our lives. The priest also gave the meaning of breaking the bread in Eucharist and urged the faithfuls to break themselves before people so as to help them in their daily lives since that destroys their normal way of thinking and acting and makes them act like Jesus especially those who receive the Holy Eucharist. He encouraged those who do not receive the holy Eucharist to be visiting him in the Tabernacle and ask for his grace. Fr. Manzi also added that no one can separate them from the love of Christ and encouraged them to call on his name always in times of joy and sorrows for he is able God.
