Local news - 18.4.11 - By Mary Tioko - The diocesan personnel told not count costs on the people they serve

The diocesan staff were urged to be people who do not count on costs when they serve the people in their various departments within the diocese. In his sermon today at St. Thomas chapel, Fr. Geoffrey Nakutan gave the staff the reflections on the days readings saying that they were challenging to the faithfuls. He said that Jesus challenges them, When he said that the woman had done good gesture and defended her because of her good acts. He said Many complained at such waste of perfume as they thought the woman was not caring about the poor. it was an hypocritical kind of act she was showing to the people by then. The priest said that people always look for various excuses to cover for their our own selfish motives. He said that , lovely extravagance like this woman most precious, most costly things she has done to Jesus they can also do it to others. He added that love never counts once desire to give but we give at most limit without counting the cost. Fr. Nakutan also said that Love comes from the act while common sense obeys prudence, he thus advised them to be patient in life. The priest said that love does not do only do good things but love does lovely things too. He mentioned on two groups of people, the scribes, pharisees, Judas and others, whom they could be in the others and pharisees who are filled up with possession, deceit, they can kill, sell, loot money, they can buy, they would like the biggest size of anything, and when challenged they build a lot of resentment.
The priest said that Jesus and the woman had a jug and a perfume which they broke for everybody to share, others felt it was a waste of money but not for good intention but for their selfish motives. Jesus gave his life and the woman, they were lovely in anything, they had a message of gospel to reach out. He asked them what they can do to reach that level? He urged the secretariat to identify with the woman in the scripture , and later the on he quoted that let them when they die without counting the cost they may and would like to be said that they always pulled up the weed and planted a flower where they thought a flower may grow.
