Standards In a 3 days inspection that was carried out by the public health
officers from Turkana county,
The officers
accompanied by journalists and civilian police officers walked through the
towns Streets inspecting all the trading within kakuma, only to realize that
innocent residents have been buying expired good that are dangerous to their
health.
Addressing
journalists after the completion of the exercise, director of Lodwar and
referral hospital Dr Gilchrist Lokoel
said that they have taken an initiative to carry on with the inspection in
entire Turkana County so as to save the lives of all residents
Accompanying
him was deputy director Alfred Emanman who urged the residents to be careful
before they buy anything should observe
expiring dates
The process
started on 13th and ended on 15th, the targeted areas
were kakuma town, the refugee camp among others. Most affected premises that
were closed include 8 hotels, like Green Park, 3lodgings, 2butcheries,2 restaurants,2
whole sales and alcohol sellers.
