Turkana county residents will not have to travel outside the
county to seek medication as they now have services at hand. This is after the
Turkana county government launched malty million health equipments that are
meant to help reduce chronic and harsh diseases among the people of this
country
Speaking during the launch that was presided over by the
health chief officer, director for health in Lodwar referral hospital Dr.
Gilchrist Lokoel expressed his gratitude towards the county government for
helping the hospital control hard-hitting disease.
Dr. Gilchrist urged the locals to make a good use of the
equipments as the county government has invested a lot of money in health
sector to better their lives. He said that the government has also hired
qualified staff to ensure accurate services to the locals.
According to Dr Gilchrist, the equipments has cost the
government over 146 million, including an advanced computerized scanning
machine worth 45 million. The machine is expected to help in scrutinizing brain
and bones related diseases. He further noted that the main challenge in
handling the facilities will be in high usage of power as the machines consumes
a lot of power. He said there is more sapparatus on the way just to make
Turkana a better place to live
