2 people have been reported to be missing as 120 goats were driven away
by suspected Pokot raiders today following a raid at a village in Kainuk that
occurred at around 12.30 pm. An unknown number of raiders attacked Kainuk town
centre and when they were overpowered by the national police reservists they headed
to a village where they abducted 2 people and stole goats.
Speaking about the incident, Lobokat ward MCA Nicodemus Eguman said the
raiders intended to attack the centre but intervention from the police
reservists prevented them.
He urged the government to beef up security in the region to control the
situation which seems to be getting out of hand.
A search has been launched to find the 2 missing people.
