Equity bank Lodwar branch has today evening flagged off 20 beneficiaries
of the wings to fly scholarship programme 2015 in Lodwar town. 12 female
scholars and 8 male scholars were flagged off in an event at the Lodwar lodge
hotel as they head to Nairobi where they will meet with thousands other
beneficiaries as they await to be commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a
ceremonies event which will be held at Kasarani stadium this Friday.
Through the programme the successful candidates will benefit a lot not
only in school fees payment but will also be provided with school uniforms,
learning materials, transport facilitation and pocket money during 4 years of
secondary education. Speaking during the flagging off event, Principal
magistrate Washika Wachira who was also the chief guest urged parents to play
their part and take care of the candidates by offering necessary support.
Equity bank Lodwar branch manager Job Nyorsok said the candidates should
USE the opportunity to improve their lives and later help others who will be in
need of the same help.
Speaking also the District Scholarship Selection board chair Isaiah
Emanikor thanked the Equity bank group for their continued support since the
programme conception in 2010.
A total of 20,000 scholars have benefited from the programme countrywide.
