Turkana county health ministry flagged off medicine worth Sh. 32
million to various dispensaries and health facilities all over the county.
Health services and sanitation chief officer Agnes Mana flagged off the
medicine at the Lodwar county and referral hospital where she also handed out
official garments to the medical and subordinate staffs of the hospital.
Speaking while flagging off the medicine, health and sanitation chief
officer Agnes Mana gave the breakdown on how the medicine will be distributed
among 5 major hospitals in the county.
She added that medicine worth Sh. 21 million will be distributed to
dispensaries and health centers while the rest will be distributed to level 4
hospitals. She also said that a consignment of medicine worth Sh. 10 million
are on the way coming which will be used to cure snake and dog bites as well as
Kalazar.
The medicine flagged off today will reduce drug insufficiency in many
health facilities especially those in remote and inaccessible areas.
