LOCAL NEWS – 1.3.2011 - BY SOFARI WYCLIFFE - Bishop Mahon private candidate more happy with their programme as they enroll for 2011 classes

A class of the private candidate in bishop mahon hall is very optimistic of performing this year as the good performance graph rises high each year, the school which was started in 2006 with the diocese of lodwar together with Aid link had the intention of helping vulnerable children in the society who dropped out of school due to various reasons.go back to school programme
Speaking to radio Akicha reporter in his office , HIV testing counseling counselor who helps in identifying the students in the field Mr. Thomas Ewoi said that the dioceses has really helped the candidates since the programme started. Mr. Thomas said that the performance of last year was very encouraging when four private candidates joined high school with the best student scoring 301 marks out of possible 500 marks the second scored 284 marks the third 267 while the fourth scored 259 marks among the best three in the class.
Mr. Thomas Ewoi also said that apart from children paying nothing for the programme at every two weeks they are given exam to test their ability with the library services which is free, they are also supplied with soap and jelly to supplement their personal needs to make them concentrate in their studies.
At every year they carry out the interview to have the class of the next lot of which one should be 18 years and above, must have not done KCPE before and must have left school two years ago . Mr. Thomas Ewoi was very optimistic with programme saying that it was going to help them stand for another chance in their lives.
