LOCAL NEWS – 22.03.2011 - By Evangeline Munyi - A mass at kakuma and ire land

A mass which was conducted to link the two schools of St. Leo's Kakuma Secondary school in Turkana County, found in Kakuma (Kenya) and St. Colman's college which is in Ireland was held at St. Leo's Kakuma secondary school to mark the beginning the link between the two schools.
The link between the two schools came as a result of the visit of the Bishop John of Dromore, Ireland last year when he went to St. Leo Kakuma Secondary school accompanied by teachers from St. Colman's College in Ireland.
St. Colman's college was started in 1823 while St. Leo's boys secondary was started in 1990. Although the two schools are far a part from each other, St. Colman's college is ready to adopt St. Leo boys secondary school and assist St. Leo's . The two schools will enjoy a mutual relationship that may as well see them exchanging visits and ideas.
This special mass at St. Leo's secondary was celebrated by Fr. John Kizito Manzi and assisted by Frs. Vincent Yego and Evans Ekai while the Bishop of Dromore celebrated the same mass the same time at St. Colman's College in Ireland today. Members of the Board of Governors (BOG) and Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of St. Leo's Teachers, support staff, and students attended the Holy mass that was held at the school compound.
