Early today six fishermen were killed at Todonyang by suspected Dassenech militia as they were pulling out their nets, by the wind pump of Todonyang Catholic Mission by the lakeshore. The attackers shot the innocent victims from behind as they were coming out with their nets after having been fishing since early in the morning. The GSU posted at the camp two kilometers from the site, went to the scene immediately after the attack but the killers managed to escape through the thickets around the lakeshore. This is the daily struggle of the more one thousand people who get their daily living from fishing and who have been camping at the Mission compound since 2008 for fear of the constant raids and cold-blooded attacks by the Dassenech warriors.
